I decided to register with RM Jobs and give the process a shot while I was going to school in Hawaii because I wanted to see what my options were.

I was surprised when the job offer required me to move to Washington D.C. and work and live with other returned missionaries that I didn't even know. It all seemed a little overwhelming to me at first so I turned the offer down. I never felt like I was disappointing anyone because I never felt any pressure to take the job. Everything was up front, down-to-earth and professional.

My course changed however when I decided to give further consideration to the offer when my placement specialist informed me he would be vacationing in Hawaii and would like to interview me in person during his visit. We ended up doing the interview but I still couldn't commit. A week or so later I called him and asked if the job was still available, realizing that I couldn't get the money that I needed for married life by staying in Hawaii.

I didn't want to start my marriage in debt, so I decided to make the sacrifice and take the job. The money I was making was good enough to be able to fly my fiancé in a couple of times and still the cash to pay for the ring, the wedding, and an apartment back in Hawaii. At first I wondered why RM Jobs invited me to relocate to the furthest destination possible, but I realize now that they wanted to put me in the right situation.
